1-2-1 Home Consultations & Socialisation Classes Packages available

a) Initial 1-2-1 home consultation 2 hours - Budget

b) Initial 1-2-1 home consultation 2-4 hours plus 1 hour follow up visit ** Recommended**

c) Initial 1-2-1 home consultation 2-4 hours plus 3x1 hour Follow up visits

d) Subsequent follow up visits or walking out visit

e) 1-2-1 Socialisation classes/sessions (Must have Initial 1-2-1 home consultation first) this can be with or with out my dogs in a safe learning environment and also out on walks.

f) Micro-chipping available minimum donation £15 per dog, all proceeds go to The Labrador Rescue Trust can be done in 1-2-1 home consultations, follow up visits or socialisation classes/sessions.

For visits over 10 miles there will be a 30p per mile fee. All packages include FREE unlimited back-up support via telephone or email and include comprehensive information sheets to refer back to.

The 1-2-1 home consultations will include all your dogs if you have others living with you. The knowledge I teach is for life and for all the dogs you will ever share your life with. It is an investment to an ongoing relationship with your dogs.

The FREE unlimited backup is invaluable because it helps you in the first weeks of putting the new learning into practice and also covers you for unforeseen situations in the future. You just don't know what's round the corner: A new member of family moves in, new baby, new dogs, moving home, holidays, weddings, family losses etc. This service will help when you find yourself in a situation where you don't understand what's going on with your dog.

What I teach is a bit like 'Super Nanny' for dogs, parenting skills in the language of canine. Dogs are not unlike children in that they need to know where they stand and fit into the family. They also need to know the rules and boundaries so they can flourish. I will also help you gain a greater understanding of the canine language and how dogs communicate with us humans.

First in the initial 1-2-1- home consultation we show the dog that they can trust and respect us. The way we show this is by making good decisions in the areas that are important to a dog. Trust can take some time to establish depending on the dogs personality and character. Like Super Nanny rather than use old fashioned discipline, shouting, fear, force, gadgets, training aids, we use a very calm consequence of action, which shows the dog what behaviour we find unacceptable; it's a bit like naughty step used for children. We use positive reinforcement and constructive interactive play to deepen your bond and encourage good behaviours.

Many behaviour issues are a manifestation of stress. Often we do not realise how much stress we create or what causes our dogs to feel stressed. Removing the stress gives the dog a chance to calm down and start listening and learning. Rather than use physical dominance we work at leading by inspiration and being a calm, reassuring presence. With this our dogs then choose to want to work with us and learn to make their own choices of how to behave in exerting self control. It is the foundation of building a relationship based on trust, once that is in place you can do anything you want!

I offer socialisation classes/sessions to clients that have started with the initial 1-2-1 home consultations, once the foundation of trust is built with their dog we can then go out creating a safe environment for their dog to either overcome fear or unnecessary behaviour around other dogs. I often use my own dog's for this and start with the older, wiser and calm dogs for socialisation classes and we can then progress to working with different personalities and characters.
